Shrubs and trees in your garden
When you have bought your home, make sure you don't plant any shrubs or trees against the exterior walls.
After a shower, it will take longer for the wall to dry out behind the shrubs and over an extended period of time might cause damp and that goes for rambling roses and clematis and the like, which need something to attach themselves to.
If you hammer in a load of nails and string with wire, rainwater could seep in around the nail. Far better to have a lovely archway of roses etc somewhere else in the garden.
