#0, by evergreen, 21 March 2011 10:09 AM

Hello  can  anyone  tell  me  if  the  10%  charge  by  the  site  owners  is  a  written  law ?  or  something  we  just  take  as  law  when  signing  contracts.  thanx  evergreen

The 10% commission is part of the Implied Terms of your Written Statement under the 1983 Mobile Home Act and as such is law. It would need an Act of Parliament to change it.

If the park site owner live up to his part. like keeping his side of the implemented terms like cutting trees.keeping boarders clear, maintaining road ways,he should not in my opinion he shold not get a penny

Would like to point out the law states that a  maximum of 10% is payable. Doesn't necessarily mean site owner wouldn't be willing to negotiate a lower rate. My original contract with our previous site owner states a maximum of 7.5% but no doubt if I decided to move our new site owner would try to get more out of me. However I've no intention of moving !

I do not understand Mossy how you can say that the park owner is not entitled to the 10% as when you bought your park home you would have been aware of this, it is not a new thing so how can you say the park owner is not entitled when you agreed to pay this when you bought your home originally ?
