adding new homes

#0, by trev, 15 July 2011 06:31 AM

hi Ed
Over the last few weeks work has  started on installing 2 new bases for 2 new homes on our site ,which will make it 1 over the site licence . the first base is only 7ft from the boundary at the rear, and the second is about 4ft from the boundary, it seams that the lincencing  officer who visited the site a couple of day ago , have not stopped the work as its still ongoing, the site owner has asked the adjoining home to move there shed and have taken back a piece of there land, I understand her reason for moving the wooden shed as it in the separtion distance, but can the site owner take back land

This is the problem with licensing officers, not many of them know their job!

The park owner can only request a change in the plot by agreement with the resident, If the park owner has requested the move of the shed and the resident agrees, it would have to be at the expense of the park owner, who would also have to lay a new base for it.

As it is a wooden shed, the park owner would also have to replace with a metal, or some kind of non-combustible shed, as wooden ones are not allowed to be used anymore.

Some licensing authorities are harder in keeping to the rules and some have notified park owners, that where wooden sheds are used, these must be replaced with metal ones etc prior to a home being sold on. Others just don't seem to care!

I wonder if you might private email me and let me know which park you live on, (we give you our guarantee that we won't contact the owner) but it does place the park on a list we hold when asked to recommend, or not, parks in a certain area.
