If the park home estate is licensed for residential only and not for tourers or caravan storage, then the caravan shouldn't be there anyway and why is it being connected? Are they wanting additional permanent accommodation? If so, this could take them out of the definition of a caravan.

If the park home owner has connected the caravan himself, then this is illegal anyway. Any electrical work done on any licensed caravan park (inc. residential) may only be done by an electrician registered with NICEIC.

Taking the first point in the strictest sense of the word, the Model Standards 2008 for Caravan Sites in England, which can be downloaded from our Downloads page, say in Clause 2.4.e. Windows in structures within the separation distance shall not face towards the caravan on either side. As tourers usually have windows on all four sides, I guess this could give you the answer you need.

A quick call to the Local Authority Licensing Officer should result in him making an inspection. He/she is not allowed to divulge the source of the information.

Hope this helps.

Ed.
