Considering what to buy! Please help!!!

#0, by treeman_33, 12 October 2011 01:07 PM

Hello, I am considering buying a park home and have a few questions which would be great to get some advice on.Any comments would be great!

1. How long will a park home last?I know this will depend on how well its looked after but what I am trying to figure out is if its worth buying an old one and fixing it up or would a new home be a better investment?

2. If I buy a new park home lets say 32x10 foot for around £36000 how much will it cost for a plot to put it on in Essex. Or what would my total costs be. I am sure this vairies too but a rough idea would be great.

3. I have seen a park home which I can afford but it is run down and looks like it will need a good bit of work, mainly cosmetic though I think. I am not sure how old it is. Its 40x30 and comes in around the same price as the small new one above. I enjoy DIY work and would hope to fix it up myself. Who thinks it would be a better buy?

Thanks for all you help guys. I cannot wait to get moving on this.Treeman

hi,theres a PH on our site thats almost 60 years old,but it has been well looked after,if you are buying an older home then one piece of advice would be to have a survey done,as for the sited price of a new home its location location location, but i`d hazard a guess at around 85k for a 32x10
if you look around there are quite a number of new ready sited units on the market, this is what we bought this year a 44x11 and we paid 45k,remember as the bricks and mortart market is depressed so is the PH market
good luck
